I really enjoy WSJ Secrets of Wealthy Women. Don’t be fooled by the name, it isn’t about making money so much as how to position yourself for success. Many in America equate money with success so the name is understandable. But what they tend to talk about is how women are crafting the lives they want for themselves. For some women success is wealth but for others it is being a part of policy making decisions in either government or large corporations. For others it is owning their own business or getting an education.
The latest episode is about the Elly Awards, given out by the Women’s Forum of New York. This group focuses on how education positively impacts the lives of women and also how women often need more than just money to succeed in earning a degree. They often need help with family responsibilities such as child care and elder care. These are roles women tend to fill and these are roles that need filling if women are to get the education we require to succeed.
Hillary Clinton is the keynote speaker so if she isn’t your favorite, just listen to the episodes on either side of this one, they are just as good.
Enjoy, and let us know what you think.
